THE terms of the employment of Derwent Valley Council general manager Greg Winton have been reaffirmed by the recently-elected council.

A statement on the council website says Mr Winton's performance was discussed at the final council meeting of 2018, along with the confirmation of his current contract.

"The mayor and elected members all agree to continue his current contract which would be next reviewed, along with his continued performance, in December 2019," the statement says.

Mr Winton was hired on a three-year contract in 2015 and was awarded a new contract at the end of 2017. Council agenda documents show he was the subject of discussion at several closed council meetings in 2018, including the December 13 closed meeting.

The unsigned statement about the continuation of Mr Winton's contract was published on the council website two days ago.
