Saturday: Bushfire situation and quick links

FIRE danger in the Derwent Valley is greatly reduced today. The 15,000 hectare vegetation fire at Gell River continues to burn but the Tasmania Fire Service says there is no immediate threat to communities.

Most services have returned to normal today, but the links below may still prove to be useful to those keeping a casual watch on the situation.

The fire service says people in Maydena, Tyenna, Mt Field, National Park, Bushy Park, Ellendale, Westerway and Fentonbury should keep up-to-date by listening to ABC Local Radio or looking at the TFS website.

People with medical conditions are advised to have a personal plan for avoiding smoke from the fires. Advice is available from the Department of Health  or the Asthma Foundation of Tasmania
