Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Friday: total fire ban in the valley

Total Fire Ban
TOMORROW, Friday, January 4, has been declared a Day of Total Fire Ban for the Derwent Valley as well as the following municipalities: Break O'Day, George Town, Northern Midlands, Dorset, Launceston, West Tamar, Meander Valley, Brighton, Hobart, Sorell, Central Highlands, Glamorgan Spring Bay, Huon Valley, Southern Midlands, Clarence, Glenorchy, Kingborough and Tasman.
No fires may be lit or allowed to remain alight in the open air from 2am Friday, January 4, until 2am Saturday, January 5.
