Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Big weekend coming up

HERE'S a guide to the events associated with Autumn in the Valley this weekend:
  • Aldo Fabian's play Women of the Willow will be performed by the Derwent Valley Players at the historic Willow Court Barracks with shows at 7.30pm this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 1-3), tickets at the venue from 7pm.
  • Derwent Valley Autumn Festival on the Derwent Esplanade at New Norfolk this Sunday. See this week's Derwent Valley Gazette for more information. Free car parking and shuttle bus at Tynwald Park.
  • Open day at the Willow Court Barracks, 10am-4pm on Sunday. More
  • Community market at Derwent Valley Community House, Willow Court, 10am-4pm on Sunday. More
  • Antiques fair and swap-meet at Willow Court Antiques.
