Rapid reponse to fire

POLICE today laid arson charges against a 48-year-old New Norfolk woman following last night's fire which caused about $100,000 to a block of units in Montagu St. The woman appeared in court today and was remanded in custody, to appear again tomorrow.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Tasmania Police said this event was not linked to the fire at La Bella Pizza in Burnett St, New Norfolk, which occurred at 4am on February 18. "Investigators are following specific lines of enquiry in relation to this fire," the statement said.
