Unrest at Corumbene home

NON-NURSING staff at New Norfolk's Corumbene Nursing Home are taking industrial action after negotiations for an Enterprise Agreement reached a deadlock. Members of the Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) have been negotiating with Corumbene for 18 months without reaching an agreement.

A stop work meeting was held last Thursday and industrial action will continue with workplace bans."This enterprise agreement involves over 80 non-nursing staff who have to endure excessive workloads and awfully low wages and conditions," HACSU acting state secretary Tim Jacobson said. "These workers continue to care for the residents because they are committed to ensuring they receive quality care."
