Speedway Christmas show cancelled

FORECAST heavy rain has forced the cancellation of tonight's Christmas Spectacular at the Hobart International Speedway at Sorell Creek. The organisers say the decision was not taken lightly as there are a number of factors to consider, with safety being the top priority.

Fireworks and children's activities planned for tonight's program have been transferred to the speedway's new year spectacular on February 5, where the family entertainment will also include kids' bike races (BYO bicycle) and a lolly scramble.

The racing program will feature Sprintcars, Late Models, Street Stocks, AMCA, Bombers, Speedcars, Modifieds, Go Karts and a Demolition Derby.
