Cyclist names New Norfolk as next challenge

THE Canberra cyclist who won this year's Tour of Geelong now has his sights set on next month's Launceston to New Norfolk event. Nathan Haas, 22, switched to full-time racing this year and finished ahead of 120 opponents to win the five-day Tour of Geelong yesterday. He also won last month's Tour of Gippsland.

Haas told the Geelong Advertiser that he was now looking foward to the Tour of Tasmania and the Launceston to New Norfolk Classic. The third running of the New Norfolk fixture will be on October 2, ahead of the Tour of Tasmania which starts on October 4.

Haas rides with the Tasmanian-based Genesys Wealth Advisors cycling team and his other successes this year include the Tour of Canberra and the Tour of Mersey. Read more about his Geelong win here.
