Cheeky little place

NEW life has been breathed into a long-vacant shop in Burnett St, New Norfolk, which has recently reopened as "Cheeky Little Place", offering takeaway coffee and sweet and savoury treats. There are a couple of seats in the window and an application for footpath seating has been lodged with the council. The premises have been extensively renovated and fitted out.

The shop at 38 Burnett St is one of many that were built as extensions of existing houses in the streets off New Norfolk's main shopping strip in years gone by. In the early 1950s it was home to Ernie Vagg's electrical shop and was later one of the locations of Lew Rice's lolly shop. It is thought to have once been a butcher's shop and in the 1980s was the original location of Len Blackwell's Norfolk Cycles bike shop.

Cheeky Little Place is open on weekdays from 8am to 4.30pm. Congratulations to all involved in this new venture.
