Road Weather Alert for Tasmania
for Upper Derwent Valley, Central Plateau, North West Coast, Central North, North East,  Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts

Issued at 9:07am on Sunday 3 August 2014.
Icy roads will make driving conditions dangerous during Sunday in parts of the North West Coast, Central North, North East, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.
For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.
The next alert will be issued by 5:00 pm EST Sunday.

CURRENT ROAD CLOSURES at 10.15am, Sunday

Collins Cap Rd, Collins Cap

Ice and snow can be expected on all roads above 500 metres in elevation. Motorists using such roads should do so with caution. Roads so affected are:

  • Highland Lakes Rd, from Golden Valley to Steppes (recommend 4×4 or vehicles with chains only before midday)
  • Poatina Rd from Poatina to Highland Lakes Rd (recommend 4×4 or vehicles with chains only before midday)
  • Marlborough Rd from Miena to Lyell Highway.(recommend 4×4 or vehicles with chains only before midday)
