RENEWED WARNING
MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR RIVER DERWENT

Flood Warning Number: 3
High levels of Minor flooding continues throughout the middle reaches of the River Derwent and in the lower reaches below Meadowbank Dam following heavy rain across the catchment in the past three days.
Minor flooding is likely to develop about New Norfolk during Friday evening.
Strong rises have been observed in most tributaries of the River Derwent. River levels will remain high during Friday. Storages in the Derwent system are quite full with several dams currently spilling.
No further significant rainfall is forecast today, with snow falling about elevated areas.
Derwent above Ouse River
Strong river rises have been recorded in the majority of the upper River Derwent. The River Derwent at Glendhu peaked overnight near the Moderate flood level (5.0 metres) and is now easing slowly. Minor flooding to continue easing during Friday.
Ouse River
Minor flooding developed in the Ouse River at Ashton overnight, with a peak of about 2.4 metres. River levels have now fallen below the Minor flood level and will continue to ease slowly during Friday.
River levels are expected to remain below minor flood level at Ouse township.
Clyde River
Small river rises remaining below the Minor Flood Level.
Below Meadowbank Dam
High levels of Minor flooding have developed in the Lower River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam overnight Thursday and river levels are expected to peak during Friday morning.
Strong river rises have been observed about Macquarie Plains where the Minor flood level (4.0m) was exceeded early this morning. River levels throughout the lower reaches are expected to peak during Friday and start to ease slowly over the weekend.
Tyenna River
River levels Tyenna River will continue to ease today. Localised flooding in adjacent creeks and surrounding low lying areas in the lower Tyenna River about Westerway to continue during Friday due to high levels in the Derwent.
Styx River
River levels in the Styx will continue to ease today. Localised flooding in adjacent creeks and surrounding low lying areas in the lower Styx River around Bushy Park and Glenora expected to continue during Friday due to high levels in the Derwent.
New Norfolk
Strong river rises will occur about New Norfolk overnight Thursday with river levels expected to peak above the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) during Friday afternoon.
Tidal variation at New Norfolk may produce localised flooding in adjacent creeks and surrounding low lying areas of the River Derwent early Friday morning, well in advance of the arrival of the main flood peak.

River Derwent at New Norfolk 2.0 - 2.4m (MINOR) late Friday afternoon 01/08/2014
