While firefighters continue their efforts, police have warned motorists entering the Crosswells Rd/Mt Lloyd Rd area to drive with caution.
"The road is closed between the Hair Pin Bend and Crosswells Rd as indicated by the signs," a police spokesman said earlier today. "The risk of fire has now subsided but there is a continued risk of falling trees. The road is expected to be closed for several days whilst an assessment of the trees are conducted."
Police say an alternative route is available to motorists needing to access the area, via Paddys Flat Rd into Leesons Rd and then onto Plenty Valley Rd.

There is a bushfire at Mount Lloyd Rd/Crosswells Rd.
There is no immediate threat to properties. There is smoke and flames visible in the Mt Lloyd and Crosswells Rd area.
Mt Lloyd Rd is currently closed due to a large tree over the road. Road Closures signs are in place and will remain in place due to the risk of falling trees and displaced boulders onto the roadway. See Tasmania Police website for current road closures and alternative routes.
What to do:
- People in Mount Lloyd should keep up to date by listening to ABC Local Radio or look at the TFS website at www.fire.tas.gov.au.
- Well-prepared homes are defendable in these conditions.
- If you are not prepared for a bushfire, think about leaving for a safe place if it gets more dangerous.
