Flood Watch for North West, North and North East, Derwent and Huon catchments

Minor flooding is likely and moderate flooding is possible during Thurday.
Multiple cold fronts will cross Tasmania this week, with Thursday's cold front expected to stall over the north east.
In the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday widespread rainfall totals of 5-15mm in the North East, 15-20 mm in the North West and 5-20 mm in the South were recorded.
Most catchments are wet from recent rainfall.
Rainfall totals for Wednesday and Thursday are expected to exceed 100 mm in the west, north west, parts of the central plateau, along the Western Tiers, north and north east catchments.
Rainfall totals up to 50 mm are expected for Wednesday and Thursday in the Huon catchment. Snow is likely at higher elevations.
Minor Flood Warnings are current for Meander and Macquarie catchments and a moderate flood warning is current for the North Esk catchment. River rises are occurring as a result of yesterday's rainfall and additional areas of minor flooding are likely to develop with the forecast rainfall.
Localised flooding is possible in small creeks and low-lying areas that receive heavy rainfall.
Further catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.
