Second option for 24-hour fuel

FOR anyone wondering why they've been leaving the lights on overnight at United Petroleum in Burnett St, it's because the petrol station now has a 24-hour self-service facility.

The recently-installed UFill24 self-service unit means motorists can still fill up at United even when the shop is closed. The same service is available at the United fuel stop just outside Hamilton, as well as at about 20 other sites in southern Tasmania.

The service accepts all debit cards, credit cards and United Card, and RACT members can still enjoy their 6c per litre discount.

The New Norfolk Caltex Mood Food on the corner of Montagu and Burnett streets is also open 24 hours a day, but the self-service unit up the street at United will be handy if you don't want to be tempted by a hamburger at 2am.
