Update to Ouse River warning

Minor Flood Warning for the River Ouse in the River Derwent Catchment

Issued at 3:38 pm EST on Tuesday 24 July 2018

Flood Warning Number: 3
Minor flooding may develop along the River Ouse around Ashton and Ouse overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Lake Augusta is near full capacity and likely to spill during Tuesday.
In the 24 hours to 3 pm Tuesday rainfall totals of up to 39 mm were recorded at the Pine Tree Rivulet.
A further 15-25 mm is forecast for the remainder of Tuesday. Higher rainfall totals are possible in elevated areas.
Strong river rises are possible in the upper River Derwent and the Nive, Florentine and Clyde tributaries from Tuesday evening.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

Strong river rises are possible in the upper River Derwent.

River Ouse:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton may exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
The River Ouse at Ouse may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
