MORE: MEET THE WHOLE TEAM
During the day, umpire Geoff Jackson - a Sorell councillor - threw down the challenge to Derwent Valley mayor Ben Shaw to each donate $100 to the winning team, and Ben obliged, having strong ties to the club. Sorell captain Scott Johnson received the donations during the presentations and then kindly donated $100 back to Gretna. A nice gesture indeed.
It was a big weekend for the Sorell Cricket Club, with all three of its teams winning their respective grand finals. It’s a big achievement to have all three teams make the grand finals, but to win all three is quite an effort. Well done Sorell.
