Women's and junior cricket

WOMEN'S T20
Semi Final

IN the women's knockout semi-final on Sunday, New Norfolk went down to Brighton by 63 runs at Pontville. Batting first, Brighton made 181 from its 20 overs. With the ball, New Norfolk's Kelly Kemmler did well taking 1-14 (3). Amber Butler took 1-24 (3) and captain Hannah Mann 1-46 (4). In reply, the Red Caps made 118. Hannah Mann batted extreme well, making 38 hitting five fours and two sixes. Kelly Read made 18 (one four) and Lisa East made 14 (one four). It’s been a big season for this team which has made great progress in its debut season.

HURRICANES JUNIOR LEAGUE
Round 13

CONGRATULATIONS to the New Norfolk Under 15s on making their grand final. The team finished on top of the ladder and will now play Kingborough in the big one. Well done also to the Under 13s who didn’t make their grand final, but also had a good season. Well done to all.

UNDER 13s
North Hobart 4/179 off 30 overs defeated New Norfolk 8/66 off 21.2 overs at Tynwald Park. Batting: Tate Browning 28 not out with 6 fours, Jack Moodie 15 with 3 fours. Bowling: Bobby Nossiter 1-5 off 3 overs, Judah Topping 1-13 off 3 overs, Kobe Strong 1-24 off 3 overs, Fearghus Joyce: 1-24 off 3 overs.

UNDER 15s
New Norfolk 2/188 off 34 overs defeated Sorell 5/186 off 40 overs at Tynwald Park. Batting: Jack Morgan 63not out with 9 fours and 2 sixes, Chris Hall 55 with 10 fours and 1 six, Jordon Gittus 42no with 8 fours, Luke Jarvis 12 with 2 fours. Bowling: Chris Hall 2-14 off 5 overs, Cameron McMaster 1-14 off 5 overs, Jordon Gittus: 1-37 off 6 overs.
