Fairview roadworks to resume

WORK on the second stage of the upgrading of Britten St and part of Benjamin Tce at Fairview is expected to resume next week.

The Derwent Valley Council last year engaged Stabilised Pavements of Australia (SPA) to upgrade Britten St, Benjamin Terrace from Back River Rd to Fairfax Tce, Matheson Court, Downie Circle and Shoobridge Place.

Initial works including new concrete footpaths and kerb and channel in Britten St started in late November and will continue in Britten St and Benjamin Tce from next week until early March.

During this time, sections of footpath may be closed for extended periods. Between the working hours of 7am and 5.30pm one lane of traffic may also be closed.

Works will then move to the road pavement itself from March 2-31, and during this time there will be full road closures between 7am and 5.30pm. Traffic controllers will be in place to provide residents with access to their properties when required.

Similar works will then be carried out in Shoobridge Place, Downie Circle and Matheson Court in March and April, with foopath and road closures as described above.
