A COMMUNITY fire refuge has been established in New Norfolk for anyone displaced by the bushfire at Lake Repulse. This is at Carinya Education Park, the former Derwent Valley Business Enterprise Centre at 103 Blair St, past New Norfolk High School. This is in addition to the previously opened refuge at the Ouse Hall, 6955 Lyell Highway,
Ouse.
At 2.30pm it was 39.2 degrees at Bushy Park, 39.3 at Ouse and 40.9 at New Norfolk (unofficial).
