A CAPTAIN'S knock was the order of the day in 2nd Grade on Saturday with Gretna I captain Ben Rainbird making a superb 170 and Molesworth I captain Ricky Martin making 114. Both leaders have shown some great form during the season and now is the pefect time to be amongst the runs. Both will be looking to do it all again this Saturday when the two sides face off against each other in the first week of the finals.

Rainbird opened the batting in his side's 181-run thrashing of Sandford at Gretna and hit 18 fours and 5 sixes, recording his highest score ever. Those who were at the ground said it was a great innings to watch and while Rainbird stole the limelight Glenn Blackwell made an excellent 86 runs, sharing a 167-run stand with his captain. Blackwell struck 8 fours and 4 sixes while at the crease. Earlier, the other opening batsman Damien Hack made 40 and he to shared a excellent opening stand of 124 with Rainbird.
