Roofing rigmarole

THE area around the Derwent Valley Council Chambers is best avoided this morning while the building is being re-roofed.

The Circle St complex, which includes the town’s main public toilets, is a hive of activity. A crane is occupying the front car park and contractors have been at work on the roof, removing old sheets of iron and nails.

In the interest of public safety, a wide berth should be maintained by anyone in the area.
