Update to River Derwent flood watch

Flood Watch for the Macquarie and Derwent

Issued at 10:59 am on Tuesday 23 July 2019

Flood Watch Number: 2

Isolated minor flooding may develop during Tuesday into Wednesday in the flood watch catchments.

A cold front crossed the state overnight Monday into Tuesday bringing showers statewide.

Some catchments are saturated from recent rainfall and are likely to be highly responsive to further rain.

Widespread rainfall totals of 5-15 mm are forecast for the remainder of Tuesday.

River rises are expected and isolated minor flooding may develop as a result of the forecast rainfall.

Further catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Macquarie River

Derwent River

(including River Ouse)

Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: North Esk, Meander
