Westerway movie night cancelled

DUE to significant water damage at the venue, Derwent Valley Youth Future Action Team (D'FAT) has had to cancel tonight’s (Saturday) movie night at the Westerway Community Hall.

D’FAT apologises for any inconvenience that this cancellation may cause but says the safety of all attendees and participants is its priority. Westerway Community Hall Committee president Patsy Clark added her own apology and said imminent upgrades should prevent a repeat of the flooding issue.

A spokesman said D'FAT looked forward to scheduling another movie night in the upper Derwent Valley in the near future. In the meantime, an outdoor movie night with free admission will be held at New Norfolk next Saturday, July 20.

The 3D computer-animated comedy film Ralph Breaks the Internet will be screened on the lawn at Arthur Square, presented by D'FAT and the Salvation Army in association with Tassie Open-Air Cinemas.

The July 20 screening at Arthur Square will start at 7pm, with food and drinks available on site. It is a drug and alcohol-free event. For more information contact D'FAT by emailing info@dfat.com.au, looking up the Facebook page or by calling Matt on 0459 096 003.
