Churches offer free Christmas Day lunch

About 100 people attended last year's Christmas Day lunch in
the New Norfolk War Memorial Hall.
A FREE Christmas lunch will be available at the New Norfolk War Memorial Hall, on Christmas Day tomorrow. The lunch is provided by the churches of New Norfolk, particularly for those who may be on their own at Christmas.

The event started about 30 years ago involving about 10 people from three families who were new to the area. It grew into a community event held in the hall at St Matthew's Church, offering food and fellowship for people who might otherwise have been alone at Christmas.

Now held in the War Memorial Hall in Circle St, lunch starts at noon and the theme is "bring a friend or come and make a friend." The two-course meal is provided free of charge although donations are welcome. Carols are sung from 2-3pm.

Bookings are appreciated - to help with catering - but not essential. For special dietary requirements, more information, or to request transport, phone Gillian on 0429 611 528 or Tim on 0408 003 635.
