Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number: 16
Minor flooding continues in the lower reaches of the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam during Friday. River levels at New Norfolk peaked below the minor flood level during Thursday evening.
Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
No significant rainfall has been reported about the catchment during Thursday and the forecast is similar for Friday.
Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
High river levels continue in the upper reaches of the Derwent catchment. Most storages within the Derwent system are at high levels, with several dams spilling. Lake King William has started to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
River Ouse:
River levels in the River Ouse will continue to ease during Friday.
The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.66 metres and falling.
River Clyde:
River levels in the River Clyde will continue to ease during Friday.
The River Clyde at Bothwell was 1.40 metres and steady when data were last received Thursday.
River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
River levels are now easing slowly in the middle reaches of the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam during Friday.
Tyenna River:
River levels will continue easing along the Tyenna River during Friday.
Styx River:
River levels will continue easing along the Styx River during Friday.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 5.76 metres around 08:30 am Thursday 06 October and is currently at 4.62 metres and falling. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may fall below the minor flood level (4.10 m) Friday evening.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains peaked at 4.18 metres around 03:34 pm Thursday 06 October and is currently at 3.58 metres and falling.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
River levels are easing along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk peaked below the minor flood level (2.0 metres) during Thursday afternoon and is currently at 1.32 metres and falling.
