Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number: 14
Minor flooding continues in the lower reaches of the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam during Thursday morning.
Lake King William has started to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
In the 24 hours to 9AM Thursday rainfall totals of 25 to 45mm have been reported about the upper reaches of the Derwent catchment. A further 5 to 10mm is forecast for Thursday about elevated areas. This rainfall is expected to maintain high river levels for the next few days.
Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
River rises have been observed in the upper reaches of the Derwent catchment. Most storages within the Derwent system are at high levels, with several dams spilling. Lake King William has started to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.
River Ouse:
River levels in the River Ouse are expected to remain below minor flood levels during Thursday.
The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 2.16 metres and steady.
River Clyde:
River levels in the River Clyde are expected to remain below minor flood levels during Thursday.
The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 1.36 metres and steady.
River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
Renewed rises are occurring in the middle reaches of the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam during Thursday.
Tyenna River:
River levels are expected to continue easing along the Tyenna River during Thursday.
Styx River:
River rises were observed along the Styx River overnight Wednesday.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 5.76 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to peak between 5.80 and 6.00 metres Thursday afternoon.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 3.92 metres and rising. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is likely to peak between 4.40 and 4.70 metres Thursday evening.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 1.52 metres and steady. The River Derwent at New Norfolk is likely to peak between 1.80 and 2.00 metres Thursday evening. High tides may affect this timing and magnitude of this peak.
