Daniel McCallum (actor Luke McGregor) in the first episode of Rosehaven, with the New Norfolk Newsagency behind him. |
The premiere episode last week was nearly all New Norfolk, from the scenes set in the High St "real estate agency", to the Circle St "medical centre" and the lead character's family home at Lachlan.
While most attention has been focused on the Huon Valley town of Geeveston which is used for establishing shots at the start of some scenes, most of the locations in the first episode were filmed in New Norfolk and surrounds.
The comedy series is based around the return of Daniel McCallum (Tasmanian actor Luke McGregor) to the ficticious town of Rosehaven to manage his mother's real estate business while she undergoes medical treatment. He is soon joined by his best friend Emma Dawes (Celia Pacquola).
Episode 2 can be seen at 9pm on ABC TV on Wednesday and it will be repeated on ABC2 at 8.45pm on Saturday. The first episode and extra clips can be seen on ABC iView.

ReplyDeleteIt's all about Geeveston! I have contacted the author (alice@tailoredtasmania.com) to ask why New Norfolk was "overlooked"
