Initial Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 10:10 am on Sunday 23 October 2016

Flood Warning Number: 1
Minor flooding may develop in the River Derwent around Meadowbank during Sunday.
Flooding is not expected to extend downstream to New Norfolk.
In the 48 hours to 9AM Sunday, rainfall totals of between 20 to 30mm have been recorded about the Derwent catchment. For Sunday, rain falling as showers with totals generally less than 5mm. 
Strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 4.01 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may reach the minor flood level (4.10 m) Sunday afternoon.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.70 metres and falling.
