Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent
Issued at 11:29pm on Tuesday 7 June 2016
Flood Warning Number: 13Minor flooding continues in the Derwent below Meadowbank dam, and in the Lower River Derwent.
Minor flooding will continue in the River Ouse at Ashton and Ouse township during Tuesday into Wednesday.
Since 9AM tuesday, rainfall totals have been less than 10mm about the Derwent catchment.
River Derwent above River Ouse:
River level rises are continuing in the upper reaches of the River Derwent and in the tributaries of the Florentine and Dee rivers. River levels are easing in the Nive River.
River Ouse:
Minor flood levels are occurring along the River Ouse, river levels will ease during Wednesday.
River Clyde:
River levels along the Clyde River are below the minor flood level and continuing to ease.
The River Clyde at Bothwell peaked at 2.00 metres around 06:16 am Tuesday 07 June and is currently at 1.63 metres and steady.River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:
River levels are beginning to peak in the middle reaches of the River Derwent.
Tyenna River:
River levels peaked at the Tyenna River at Newbury Tuesday morning and are currently easing.
Styx River:
River levels are easing along the Styx River. At Bruces Bridge, the Styx River fell below the minor flood level (2.00m) early Tuesday morning.
River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 7.47 metres around 07:30 pm Monday 06 June and is currently at 5.60 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Wednesday.The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at a moderate flood level of 5.02 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Wednesday.
River Derwent around New Norfolk:
Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk peaked at 2.60 metres around 12:30 am Tuesday 07 June and is currently at 2.10 metres and steady. The River Derwent at New Norfolk is likely to remain around the minor flood level (2.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. The next high tide may see some renewed rises, with river levels to remain below the previous peak.Flood Safety Advice:
