Minor flood warning updated

Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 9:03 am on Monday 6 June 2016

Flood Warning Number: 2

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Ouse in response to heavy rainfall in the north of the State.

Minor flooding may occur along the River Clyde and the lower River Derwent overnight tonight into Tuesday.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

No significant river rises are expected in the upper reaches of the River Derwent.

River Ouse:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 3.95 metres and rising. A minor peak is expected in the River Ouse at Ashton overnight Monday into Tuesday.

The River Ouse at Ouse is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Monday morning.

River Clyde:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Clyde.

The River Clyde at Bothwell may exceed the minor flood level (2.00 m) Monday afternoon.

The River Clyde at Hamilton may exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) Tuesday morning.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River rises are expected in the middle reaches of the River Derwent.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may exceed the minor flood level (4.10 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.

The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Tuesday morning.
