All-clear for Westerway water

THE temporary boil water alert for Fentonbury, Westerway and National Park was lifted last week by the Department of Health and Human Services. The warning was issued on June 6 after heavy rain and flooding in the catchment area led to discolouration and high turbidity levels in the water supply.

The latest water quality testing has shown that the risk to public health has been appropriately addressed and the warning could be lifted. Written notice of the change has been sent to residents and businesses in the area.

TasWater chief executive Michael Brewster thanked residents for their patience during the period of the boil water alert.
