New look for the council website

The council website's new look.
THE much maligned Derwent Valley Council website has been upated. Mayor Martyn Evans said the website upgrade included a substantial increase in the amount of information provided and an improvement in the ease of navigation.

Councillor Evans said the revised website presented a much fresher look and feel and was more user-friendly. "Local emergency related information will enable residents to quickly determine whether road closures and the like are in place," he said.

"All council advertising will be published on the website, including applications for development permits. The new way the information is presented should make it easier for people to gain access to the information and hence encourage further public comment," Cr Evans said.

The old website.
The mayor said the website update had been undertaken at minimal cost due to the efforts of a working group of councillors and council officers. "I encourage locals to have a look at our website and welcome constructive feedback," he said.
