SFL Round 16 preview

Southern Football League match preview
Round 16 - Provided by SFL League Management

Sorell v New Norfolk at Pembroke Park, 2pm Saturday
In recent weeks New Norfolk has moved up from the second-last spot on the ladder to sit smack bang in the mix and after convincingly defeating Huonville at Boyer last weekend they should be in for a comfortable win at Sorell tomorrow.

Sorell had a bye last week and it would be great to see them come out with a strong performance against New Norfolk. Sorell has the home ground advantage and, with only two wins under the belt, will be desperate to build on its wins at this point in the season.

This will be an interesting match to watch. New Norfolk is also desperate for the win as it moves closer towards securing a finals berth.

Sorell to be selected from:
J. Johnstone, J. Tate, W. Rice, J. Williams, R. Gregson, K. Flynn, J. Bateman, J. McCarthy, B. Campbell, B. Pace, B. Attrill, S. Russell, J. Latham, J. Chynoweth, D. Chapman, M. Beven, E. Batchelor, A. Jones, H. Taylor, S. Hughes, N. Wherrett, T. Chynoweth, T. Pears, G. Morgan, G. Williams, T. Pace, B. Walker, R. Heald

New Norfolk to be selected from:
S. Bonnitcha, J. Van-Lierop, J. Campbell, J. Gunther, J. Bearman, R. Heron, J. Wigg, A. Burgess, N. Eiszele, M. Murray, J. Taylor-Evans, K. Hansen, B. Wardlaw, B. Lovell, N. Lester, C. Curtain, J. Murray, L. Joseph, N. Clayton, R. Belcher, T. Eiszele, M. Thompson

Cygnet v Lindisfarne at Cygnet, 2pm
These teams are capable of putting up a strong fight and after huge wins for both teams last week it’ll be a tight contest tomorrow.

Dodges Ferry v Brighton at Shark Park, 2pm
Dodges Ferry and Brighton are sitting next to each other in seventh and eighth position on the ladder respectively, so a win for either team will be important this weekend. Brighton may be the team to beat as a victory will move them closer to overtaking Dodges Ferry on the ladder and gaining some bragging rights heading towards the end of the season.

Hobart v Claremont at TCA Ground, 2pm
After Hobart’s track record in the last couple of rounds, it is likely that the reigning premiers will come out on top of this match.
