Road Weather Alert for Tasmania
for Upper Derwent Valley, Western, Central Plateau and Midlands forecast districts
Issued at 4:24 pm on Tuesday 26 July 2016.
Icy and snow covered roads above 500 metres will make driving conditions dangerous during Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning in parts of the Western, Central Plateau, Midlands and Upper Derwent Valley forecast districts.
The road weather alert for the South East forecast district has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further alerts will be issued if necessary.
For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.
The next alert will be issued by 11pm Tuesday.
Warning to Sheep Graziers
for the Upper Derwent Valley, King Island, Furneaux Islands, North West Coast, Central North, North East, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts
Issued at 4:23pm on Tuesday 26 July 2016.
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and strong northwesterly winds are expected during Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Areas likely to be affected include the King Island, Furneaux Islands, North West Coast, Central North and Upper Derwent Valley forecast districts and parts of the North East, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
The next warning will be issued by 11pm Tuesday.
